Double speed, woo!

I've basically had this stuck in my head since I was 12. This and the bike theme from GS.

It's nice, but the piano sounds quite hollow and it's just a straight cover without any new ideas in it.

With a better piano sound and maybe take a bit more liberty with the composition and it'd be a lot better.

More of 0:08

Nice guitar sound. I like the part at 0:08, sounds awesome.

It really sounds like the song should follow that part. Let the bass and drums come in under the riff and start kicking ass.

But as it is, the songs just tries out a few things then doesn't go anywhere with them.

The quieter parts sound kind of Primus like, btw

yeah, i know this didn't go anywhere, I am going to try to redue this one.

fun

The guitar part is nice, but the synth for it pretty bad and distracting.

I like it when the piano and bass play are playing together.

Way to separated tho. The different parts of the song don't sound linked enough, since so many of the instruments swap. I suggest keeping some more instruments constant through out more of the song. But playing new things underneath.

yEAHTHX. =)

Cool, but not enough variance

I liked the beginning part a lot. It has a very cool ambient and dark style to it. Reminds me of some of the dark ambient songs in the Half Life 2 and Portal soundtrack (which I love, so nice job!).

But the rest of the song didn't really go anywhere.

The drums where kind of cool, but they put a halt on the cool atmosphere you had going. It would have been ok if there where some more changes to the chords and some subtle harmonies coming in. But sticking with the same chords and beat the whole way through makes it feel like it doesn't go anywhere.

I do like some of the style though. And if you try out some different song structures and develop the ideas a bit more you could have some pretty nice stuff.

This could easily be a song that gets left on loop for ages without noticing and hypnotizes you, but there'd need to be more to break it up, so it doesn't feel like one 10 second loop over and over with a lead synth on top.

thanks ;)

Kick ass

Awesome.
Love the percussion. Some of the guitars sound a little too synthy.
Also, that synth at 2:50 onwards fucking kicks ass.

Nice

For some reason I can not stop listening to this song! I've had it downloaded for a few weeks and thought I needed to review it.

It's got that cool synth bass line and a really nice kind of broody atmosphear to it. Great for game music :)

...

I've been on an American Tail phase the past few weeks, so it's awesome to hear some music from it up here :)

Nice sound for the vocals. They seems slightly loud maybe tho?

Cayler responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the piece.

Kick ass song!

Very good sound. Even tho couldn't understand the words, it sounded cool.

Maybe worth putting up an instrumental version so people can use it in movies and games here?

Nice

Cool chill out song.
I really like the drums, but the synth chords have a bit too many cheesy 80s effects on them.

Nice

Very film score like. To me it sounds like it'd be towards the end of a movie when a main character is considering an important decision and looking back over what they've done so far.

I like the small higher string melody at 0:26 - 0:36. But it sounds like it could have gone somewhere more, like maybe a slight change in style and develop the melody and atmosphere a bit. Then come back to the other stuff you wrote after.

The instrument sound brings this down a little. You can tell it's not professional.
Also the song would probably be improved if there was a bit more variance instead of just the chords and always playing with the same distance from each other. Perhaps some simple arpeggios on the second part?

Anyway, nice atmosphere. It reminds me of a song from the Dexter soundtrack "Changed". I suggest giving it a listen.
